State Profiles Archive

A Summary of State Efforts to Assess Post Secondary Outcomes for Students with Disabilities was created in January 2003 and identifies what data is collected and by whom, what methodology is used and what the data is used for, including who gets the reports.

Florida

Kansas

General Supervision Enhancement Grant Abstract (WORD)



Kentucky Non-Academic Data for Schools are collected annually each Fall. This includes data on the transition of students from high school to post high school environment.


Maine General Supervision Enhancement Grant Abstract (WORD)


Michigan The Michigan Department of Education Office of Special Education conducted this transition survey (.pdf) of nearly 11,000 students aged 16 and older who exited high school in 2001.

Missouri

Missouri does not have a specific format that districts use to collect this information from students. They do have a mandatory collection, through their Core Data system, that collects aggregate numbers for all students from our 524 school districts in the categories of : 4yr college, 2yr college, employed, non college, military, other.

Missouri uses this information for their Part B Performance report and for their Missouri Special Education State Profile. Example reports can be found under Data Reports

Wisconsin Post High School Outcomes Survey is a web-based option for districts to use to assess the outcomes of post high school student exiters with disabilities. WPHSOS is made possible by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.


The National Post-School Outcomes Center is a 5-year project funded by OSEP in December 2004. It is a collaborative effort of the Technical Assistance and Consulting Services and Secondary Special Education and Transition Unit at the University of Oregon.
