
A Summary of State Efforts to Assess Post Secondary Outcomes for Students with Disabilities was created in January 2003 and identifies what data is collected and by whom, what methodology is used and what the data is used for, including who gets the reports.

KEY: The seven purple states are those that presented at the 2003 Forum on Post-School outcomes, hosted by the Western Regional Resource Center. Each presentation addressed three questions:
• What kinds of data are being collected by the state?
• Methodology—How are the data being collected?
• How are the data being used?

| Kentucky | Non-Academic Data for Schools are collected annually each Fall. This includes data on the transition of students from high school to post high school environment. |

| Michigan | The Michigan Department of Education Office of Special Education conducted this transition survey (.pdf) of nearly 11,000 students aged 16 and older who exited high school in 2001. |

| Missouri | Missouri does not have a specific format that districts use to collect this information from students. They do have a mandatory collection, through their Core Data system, that collects aggregate numbers for all students from our 524 school districts in the categories of : 4yr college, 2yr college, employed, non college, military, other.
